The Wallaby, Kangaroo and Possum care project is operated by local carers. It is a licensed rescue, rehabilitation and release program for Australian wildlife. Specialising in Wallaby, Kangaroo and Possum care. As well as sugar gliders. Support is provided all year round.
Firstly, the RSPCA (Royal Society of the Protection of Animals) predominantly directs animals to the project, where they are rehabilitated and released into South D’Aguilar National Park. Achieved through broad bush corridors which are located at the rear of the property leading directly on to The National Park.
The project has the space to provide care for up to 40 animals at a time. With the aim to release animals when they are able to survive in the wild.
Secondly, local reforestation programs, both on their own and surrounding properties, are another key area for the project.
The project relies on volunteer fees and donations from the public which cover the cost for enclosures, medical bills and food for animals. The contributions and donations support the animals could be cared for.
Volunteers care for around 40 animals in the centre.
